Nothings ever a waste if you plan on even modding further. First off your stocker LS1 manifold is good to about 400 rwhp, even then your pushing it as a bottle neck. On a stock LS1 the LS6 intake will give you about 7-8 respectively on HP and TQ. On the other hand if you go with heads and a cam later in your build you will be looking at a nice 20 or more. The LS6 intake is a great investment, it gives your LS1 sufficient airflow so you can mod happily all the way to your goal. Its definitely worth it. Increased plenum volumes, longer bigger runners, more power, whats not to like.

It a vastly superior design. 7-10 hp on a stock ls1 sounds about right, but that's across the entire powerband, not just peak. Also the fit and finish make it a safer bolt on than something without factory R&D support. And yes, on even a bolt on car the positives are measurable.

Question

While on the subject of bolt on cars, I'm planning on long tube headers/ORY for my stock internal LS1 automatic with LS1 intake, I know I will see some nice gains from the headers/no cats but will the addition of an LS6 intake (I have one ready to go on) really give me that much more (ET/trap speed etc.)?
