I was wondering this too since I just shredded my hands and spent 3 hours changing my plugs. #8 is a biotch!

Power? No, not really. Let's put it this way, you won't notice any gain from changing the wires, nor will it probably show any improvement on the dyno. People like myself just change them; one, because the stock ones are worn out, two, because they look better than the stock ones. I went with the Taylor '409' Pro Race wires, 10.4mm, because they came in red and are big and sturdy as heck.

The stock wires have a ton of resistance in them, and aftermarket ones dont, yes. But the fact is you still won't notice any gain from new wires.

Well, it all just depends. They will not increase or improve performance in the same direction that a nitrous setup of supercharger would. A qualityset of wires, would enhance your ignition setup, by allowing your ignition system to run at its' optimum. So the only power you'd be gaining, is the amount that was being hindered by the previous set of wires. Unless your wires are garbage, and alot of them are, even the fancy colored ones in the speedshops, you just won't be able to tell until something rears its' ugly head. Like, the mysterious misfire that somehow showed up after you stuck a set of low resistance race wires on your computer controlled car.

Taylor Thundervolts here. Nice and beefy, low resistance, quality wires. I'd recommend them to anyone. I don't have heat sheilds on them and there are no signs of any trouble. I'm running LTs, so with some of the shittier wires, melting will be a problem.
