Default borla and cut out ???

ok here's the question...

I have Borla and no cats right now, and also the LS1 Hotcam, anyways, if i were to get a cutout, would this make the car any louder when it is open???

Was wondering about that

Thanks!

Isn't the borla (with all the plates removed) a straight pipe?

Yes, if it is the adjustable borla that comes with the catback, then it is the same as straight pipe.

And qtp makes a cutout unit to fit the flange. (if I wasn't supposed to say qtp for some reason, let me know...)

Borla also sold a non-adjustable muffler.

That I don't know for sure... I know qtp has a 'standard' cutout. And a separate one specifically for the Borla flanges.

I just went out to the garage and measured the spacing on the holes. A 3" header collector gasket I have is 3 and 3/8" between centers. My borla plates are 3 and 1/2" between centers. If I center a borla plate over a collector gasket, about 1/2 of each hole is covered up.
