Default Magnaflow Cat-back

I WAS JUST WONDERING HOW THE MAGNAFLOW CAT-BACK WOULD SOUND ON MY 2000 Z-28. I AM ABOUT TO INSTALL A HIGH FLOW CATALYTIC Y-PIPE BUT OTHER THAN THAT IT'S STOCK. HOW LOUD WOULD IT BE AND HOW WELL DOES IT FLOW IN COMPARISON TO SOME OF THE OTHER CAT-BACKS OUT ON THE MARKET. I CURRENTLY HAVE THE SLP LOUD MOUTH BUT I'M STARTING TO GROW TIRED OF IT. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY FEEDBACK YOU COULD GIVE ME.

I have the Magnaflow and it sounds great. Real musscle car tone. Screams at WOT. I did however lose 10rwhp with the magnaflow vs. the stock SS exhaust.

Magnaflow flows great, it's pretty much impossible you lost 10 rwhp.

I had a Loudmouth... then I added long tubes and ORY. I had to get rid of the Loudmouth at that point. I went with the Magnaflow and I have to admit - it sounds AWESOME, but I did lose power with the Magnaflow over the LM. It seems to be choking my motor out above 4600RPM where as the LM flowed right up to 6K... However, I assume it MUST flow better than our stock exhausts... I will be adding an electric cutout to solve the flow problem at the track!

Magnaflow is a great sounding exhaust. I'm running LT's and a ORY with this catback.

A high flow catted Y pipe would be a waste of money. WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING?

Swapped my magnaflow for a Hooker catback. The Hooker catback sounds much better on stock manifolds and with headers. Plus, the tips on the Magnaflow are the ugliest things I have ever seen.

To try to answer your question- I recently installed a catted RT Y after running just a Magnaflow muffler. It sounded great with the Magnaflow but after installing the Y it sounds even better (and a little louder).
