Default Edelbrock pro flo xt 7139 intake Good/Bad?

Has anyone here used the Edelbrock EFI LS1/LS6 intake setup? Just curious how it performs compared to other after market intakes. I'd like to use it on a resto mod 70 camaro for the looks more than anything but dont want to lose a ton of HP/TQ just for looks. Thanks in advance.

Intake will be great as long as you have the right cam for it. The intake will suck *** if the cam you have is meant for a LS6 or FAST intake. I've seen dyno numbers and track times with people who have a cam tailored for that type of intake and dyno numbers and track times for people who have the entirely wrong cam and it's really night and day difference.

I would talk to someone like Martin at Tick Performance, Ed Curtis with Flowtech Induction or Kip Fabre with Cammotion. From what I've seen, you need a bigger split and a lower LSA.

I am building a N/A 383 ls1 so I was definitely going to have a cam spec'd. I am looking a a ported fast 90/90 combo which I am sure will perform as good or better than the edelbrock but I just love the tunnel ram look of the edelbrock. I just don't want a bad *** looking engine that runs like a turd. Hows the low and mid range on these manifolds. I know it will sacrafice some of that power because of the high rise design but would it be really bad even if I had a spec'd cam for it?

It will be fine with a cam spec'd for that intake. That is what I'm talking about. If you have the wrong cam, low and mid range will be a turd. With the proper cam, low and mid range will be just as good as a fast intake.

We can spec you exactly the cam you need for any setup.
Let us know.
In fact we just sold a proflo xt to a customer, but it was the LS2 style for the 90mm tb. If I were you, I would use that one, but if you already have it purchased, then obviously you cannot. No reason to go with the 78 really when the 90 is the same price unless you dont want to dish out on the larger 4 bolt tb.

And it is really hard to say if the numbers and times you have seen/heard are from actual problems with the camshaft, or just issues with tuning or the entire setup.

When people run cams like the Torquer V2, F13, F14, VRX5, etc. I know it's the cam that's hurting the low and mid range. Anyone from the companies that make those said cams will tell you straight up that the valve events in those cams are not suited for a single plane intake. Tuning may be part of it, but having the right cam is paramount in my opinion.
