Why BUY a ORYP?
Just curious why u need to buy one? Why not have the muffler shop make one when your installing everything? Or am i missing something here? Just wondering cause my shop will make everything from the headers back for 50$. And a new ORYP is around 110$, am i totally missing something?

It is very unlikely that they are using mandrel bends.
Corner exhaust shops just don't have mandrel bending machines, way too expensive. That is why header and muffler manufacturers are pretty much the only ones with mandrel bends. The only way they could be doing it is if they buy mandrel bent pipes and cut them at different angles and weld them all together to form a custom exhaust.
Some crush benders make very pretty bends, but they are still crushed. 3" crushed pipe flows less than 2.5" mandrel pipe.

I got an estimate for $80 for a custom mandrel bent Y from a local exhaust place. Not a bad price but If you're not going to have them put it on then getting the car there after the header install could prove to be a PITA.

So how much power am I leaving on the table having a crushed 2.5" y-pipe for my mac headers with S2 heads, TR224 cam? I put down 427hp/401 tq with this combo but have always wondered how much I am losing by having the crushed 2.5" ypipe.
I think I may step up to a set of Pacesetter headers with thier revised ypipe. I'd be happy if I saw another 10hp and 5tq at the wheels.
