Default LS6 intake OE 78mm tb and OE fcar MAf holding back 6.0

I'm working on a 6.0 LS2 for my TA and was planning on using the stock LS6 intake the stock MAF and 78MM TB. Car will have a GM ASA cam and TSP LT's is there more power to be found by upgrading induction parts or should it all flow just fine for a DD 6.0

Christ I've phrased this multiple way's and not a answer anywhere in weeks did everybody forget how to help around here.

LS2 with LS6 intake 78mm TB and OE fbody MAF. Is a upgrade necessary or is it more than sufficient for present combination. Thanks

You would gain a little with a bigger maf on that setup, maybe 5 hp. But the 75mm inlet neck will still restrict it a bit. I would definately upgrade the maf if you go with a fast intake/bigger tb. You could log MAP at WOT, high RPM and compare to atmospheric when you get it running... a good setup shows less than 3 kPa drop.

Do that.

And then decide if you want to buy a 85mm MAF, 90-92mm throttle body, and FAST intake. Then pay to get a new tune.

Don't recall having seen you ask this question before in this section (which would be the proper section) but the answer could also be found by searching a little. It is very common for people to ask about larger MAF and TB, the general consensus is that it usually takes a good cam and ported head combo to warrant the costs for the gains.

I know I went from a stock screened MAF to a Saxon screened 85mm GM maf and after a proper retune showed no gains at the track.

With such a small cam I dont see the money justifying the hp gains you will get. Now if you had a bigger cam and heads, yes itd be more beneficial.

Im running a 6.0 now and have an ASA cam to go in, already have LS6 intake. The stock stuff flows plenty for the approx. 380-400 rwhp you can expect. Will you gain an extra ~20 from a Fast 92/TB/MAF? Sure... but is it worth the $1500+ it costs? Depends on how fast you really wanna go! To me personally, no. MAYBE if I were to find a good deal on one and I was getting bored with the current power level... but hell, Im pretty satisfied as it is with a basically stock LQ4.

Its not like you cant throw a Fast on it at a later time... intake swaps are cake. Get it in and running good. If you really need more, then go for it.

Awesome thanks for ideas sounds like it will do sufficiently for what I'm going to do with the car. Before spending money on fast stuff to fit 243s id be better off saving nickels and dimes to put a set of rectangle port ands ls3 induction components in the future. I'm trying to build a nice running motor and use up all my parts I've been accumulating over the last few years.
