Lightbulb Prestone Flush Kit Install Guide- LS1 engine Camaro

Since the information is not easily found, here's a great little guide for you all installing a Prestone flush kit in your LS1/LS2 engine:

A = Water pump outlet to heater core, 5/8".

B = Water pump inlet from heater core, 3/4". <-- hose where the tee goes, in the straightest area you can use!

C = Water pump inlet / thermostat housing (in to engine from radiator), 1-1/2".

N = Water pump outlet (out to radiator, from engine), 1-1/4".

My install:

Clearly Prestone's guidance SUCKS! “Hose #2 runs from fire wall to top of engine. This is the heater inlet hose.”

This is a good post, as a LOT of folks always question the flow path of the water pump / coolant system.

I was going to flush my system today, but after reading on the forums here I'm terrified to even attempt!

First I don't know what I'll find (did the power steerig leak?), then I'm afraid I won't completely flush the system clean (the radiator cap has muck on it...).

Then there's the whole: dexcool vs green coolant debate....

I'm tempted to march on down to Chevy and let them do the work.

It's amusing that in 2014, their illustration is still of a carbed motor.

I found some oily gunk in my coolant reservoir and took a long time to get it out, be sure to use hot water and or some type of coolant flush else it will take longer. Be prepared to have to replace your thermostat, my t-stat seal was deformed and they don't sell the seals, so you have to buy a whole new one. I am stuck with Dexcool. I probably should get a new radiator cap, to be on the safe side too, mine is original, AFAIK.
