help, friends car wont start
she has a Lt1, but hopefully you guys can help me out. she got a throttle body air foil, and yesterday i went to put it in. i disconnected the battery, and pulled off the MAF sensor, and the intake elbow, unplugging both of them. after i got that off, i saw that she already had a TB air foil. the guy who owned the car before her had already put one in, that she didnt know about. so i put the elbow and the maf back on, plugged them both in, and reconnected the battery. then we left it, and we took my 99 Z out. so then she went to start it today, and it starts, but it dies almost immediately after she starts. if she gives it gas, it will stay running, but it wont stay at idle. it will just die. any help would be great. thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if this applies but I had my battery disconnected for the first time a few weeks back.
When I reconnected it and started the car, it would die out if I let it sit at idle. This happened about three or four times and I ended up holding the rpm around 1500 rpm and then once it got back out on the road, it was fine, although a little rough at first.
My PCM seems to have reset itself and after the little ride home it was fine again. I took it out the next day and it started with no problems, it ran really strong and felt even better than before.
I have an LS1 but I assume the LT1 is similar, the only other thing, make sure the connection on the MAF is seated all the way.
Good luck.

Take a close look at the rubber intake elbow that fits around the throttle body mouth, especially at the six o' clock position.
Sometimes it is possible that the elbow is not completely on the throttle body and this could cause the car to die immediately after starting.
