Default What benefots if any switching to electric water pump?

I was noticing a lot of LS1 with electric pumps and got curious.. I know one slight benefit would be less work for the motor since it would be 1 less thing to turn, but other than that are their any other benefits? are they worth it to switch over?

since ill be removing all the front off the motor soon to replace the cam and timing chain, figured id ask to see what my options are ..

the price isnt terrible but then you need a bunch of other parts to make it work which adds up.

I've been tossing the idea of getting an electric pump around. I think I'll end up going the same route as you and stick with a mechanical pump too.

I researched this recently and there were a decent amount of people that didnt gain any horsepower with an ewp. I ultimately decided against it since my car isnt a track car.

I saw one guy not gain anything most including me get around 5-10. If you buy one new at full price and just want the hp its a waste. I got mine NIB for a steal, it def keeps the car cooler looks badass and picked up some ponies. In the end I'm happy lol

Thought about this as well but the gain doesn't offset the cost... However if It keeps it that much cooler that could be a better advantage...
