Pace Setter L/T 98 Z-28
Anyone on here have or use to have Pace setter long tubes on 98-02 camaro or trans am and experience the y-pipe hitting the floor board of vehicle. I had to dent the y-pipe that connects to the header to minimize the noise and it helped out but not quite. I think where the y-pipe connects into the exhaust is hitting as well
Has anyone experienced this and if so what did you do to correct it.
Please keep advice positive thank you

actually No the motor mounts are fine. Car only has 80 k on it. I had the transmission rebuilt 2 months ago at a shop and was told I didn't need to replace them; I was warned before the work was done that i might since the car is 16 years old. But by my surprise I was told they were fine.

Ill have to hit up my shop and ask about swapping them out.
But I wanted to see if anyone on here had or has the same issue I do with PACE SETTER .... I know Kook's are much better header but also $400 more as well. Ive heard they are better because they stretch longer then pace setter so therefor when the y-pipe connects to header / exh it sits lower and not right up against the floor board.

OP: Go by the autoparts store and pick up a high temp radiator hose and a band clamp. Cut the hose flat and then clamp the hose in the spots that the YPipe is banging. This will take care of the noise.
A more "permanent" solution involves replacing your mounts as stated in the other threads....

I think the biggest mistake was buying Pacesetter's to start with. You can buy stainless steel headers from Speed Engineering cheaper than you can buy painted Pacesetters. This is why you do a search before buying anything.
