Question How cold is too cold???

Well, I got the car tuned, finally, and he lowered the fan temps. I then installed a 160° thermostat to go along with it. The motor is running exceptionally cool right now. On the freeway, it stays at 165°, and while driving through the city, some stop lights, not bad traffic though, it didn't go past 180°. The low fans came on around 160° and the high fans come on at about 195°. Does this sound okay? I heard somewhere that LS1's like to run warm. Thanks

I have an aftermarket gauge, and it is dead-on comparing it to AutoTap. The motor is running cold enough to make the stock gauge read a little cooler as well.

FWIW they are more efficient when warm, but you dont want to run 225 degree at the track with heads/cam so i wouldnt worry about it.

Thats what the guy said. With the timing he put in, running hot = detonation

Anyone else?
