Default opinions on gains from 102 to 102rt

I have a 3rd gen camaro, recently finsihed the heads cam swap on it this summer
stock bottom end
used prc ls6 2.5s
btr stage 4 235/242 .621"/.592" 111+3
fast 102 /102
i put down a hair over 430hp through a 9 inch. i dont have a dyno graph on hand, but as you can imagine most of the power is up top.

the lsxrt 102 will fit under my hood so no reason to argue that. but does anyone think there are any gains to be had switching? i have one laying around just curious to see if it be worth the swap.

this car does spend alot of time in its upper rpm range as well.

thanks in advance.

According to several well know experts on here, there are gains to be had switching to the FAST 102rt. Since it will fit, I see no reason why not to do it. You should be able to sell the FAST 102 and maybe even come out ahead if you found a used 102rt. Seems to me that quite a few people by the FAST 102rt with intentions of making it fit, but soon find out that the modifications that have to be done to the cowl and hood aren't worth it and end up selling it.

You say will fit I say try it, will like to see before and after dino charts comparison, does increase mid range and top end on stock 5.3 by over 20 whp should do much better on larger displacement specially down low.

Did a bit of research before starting my cross ram dual plenum project you may have seen posted in this section.

The LSXrt is basically a cross ram intake under an ugly breadbox cover. The design is superior with the straighter longer runners & should make more power the whole range up.

There is an older thread here where Tony Mamo was porting one. All plastic molded parts are less than perfect in size variance & sharp casting flashings, so even a diy mild cleanup would improve one.

I want to run one only 4th gen. I already have a Sunoco hood. I don't mind hacking up my cowl. Everything I've read has said it'll make power and carry it longer over a reg 102

Very nice. I'm sure you weren't out much money at all after selling your regular FAST 102. I just wish the FAST 102rt fit on a 4th gen. I'm holding out hope for the new MSD Atomic intake.

The car 102 was massaged slighly not as much as the truck one. Still to be able to gain like that over a 102 is awesome.
This is on a 346. Btw, I'll see if I can get the charts

Yeah, I'd love to see the dyno graphs. Picking up 10 rwhp across the board is impressive.

I'd love to see some pictures too. I'd also like to see pictures of anyone running the FAST 102rt on an f-body. I know it can be done, but can't seem to find any pictures out there.

Here's some.

Minimum of 3" cowl would be needed but could be smaller depending on slope of the hood in front area. Custom ram air or CAI will have to be used because of this as TB will not line up with lid due to extreme angle. You could keep lid but would need major fabbing of intake tubing, and would need to hack and re-epoxy lid. Stock bottom 346 H\C\I put down 496rwhp\417tq. I possibly have access to a 1313 LSXR 102/102. Same porter as my LSXRT 102/102. Maybe if Speed inc or AMS would donate some dyno time we could do a back to back comparison of which intake performs better lol... Hope this helps everyone.

Appreciate it. Sounds like a lot of work and sacraficing the integrity of the car for a maximum of 10hp over the car FAST 102.
