Default Open cutout or not?

ok im sure you all know the mess we had with my header and ypipe install, now that its all done im wondering if i should keep the cutout open or not? i LOVE the sound of it open, but i think i acutally lost low end torque after the install and im thinking its the cutout not giving enough back pressure. I havent capped it up yet, not sure how its gonna sound, but do you guys think ill be faster with the cutout closed?? i think i have too much exhaust. i know i need to test it at the track to know for sure but has anyone had experience with this? not sure when the next time is that we go to the track, weather has been crappy, its just gonna be harder to know cuz with the cutout it is soo loud that it feels faster. i would kinda like to know this the same for v8maro's car too, with the cam he looses some low end torque and it feels like the torque is better with the cutout closed but then up top it either doesnt feel as fast or its just cuz its not crazy loud. the track will tell all but would like to hear some experiences so i can decide what to do until then. sorry bout the long post

I love the sound of my cutout open but then I sometimes get tired of it open. I still can't make up my mind open or closed.

yeah the sound is better but which is faster on a stock car with long tubes offroad ypipe and cutout? i have a lid and k&n as the only intake mods and im not sure if the open exhaust is hurting me.

Thumbs up

I still think that an open cut out will show better track times than a closed one 9 out of 10 times, especially on a car with stock exhaust.
I have a cut out with an otherwise stock cat back and it definitely helps...if/when I get LTs with ORY I will still keep it open at the track but I might close it more often on the street maybe.

I just went to the track with my new cutout and got very very small gains with it uncapped. somthing like .02 ET and .04 MPH gain. I also have the factory catback.

No I have not tuned the car at all. but the car feels strong with just a few bolt ons so I am not to worried about a tune just yet. maybe after the TCI 3500 goes in this weekend.
