Argh. I was kind of hoping they wouldn't release it. I can't decide between a fast 102 or 92, and now we have to throw this into the mix

I'd personally wait. There's another one that's about to set the world on fire...

The Vararam looks interesting. I want to see them install one because I'm really curious to see how they get the runners bolted up to the plenums, and then bolt it down to the heads.

Good stuff Brien. Christmas in March is pretty nice. Where did you order it from? Had you ordered it a while ago from Summit or Jegs, or did MSD send it directly to you? Look forward to seeing the writeup.

I really would love to know what kind of gains each will have.

The problem is I'm green lighting the build at some point tomorrow... And these LS1 MSD intakes are still a few weeks out. Vararam is likely a little longer. So hopefully there are similar gains in all the LS1 motors, and the end result is lower prices on all of them.... (But knowing my luck, the MSD on an LS1 will crush the Fast)

If I were a betting man, I'd say the MSD and Vararam will be significantly better than the FAST intakes.

Well that's unfortunate.

I guess I'll be that poor sucker who bought a tube TV right before Flat panels became a feasible reality.

Vararam already stated their intake wont fit the fbody, and I'll believe it by looking at it lol. I think the msd will be better than the fast at first. How much I dont know, I dont think it will be groundbreaking though out of the box in a normal 346. Fast is also throwing their hat in the ring as well with their adjustable runners.

If they both prove to be the that much better i wont hesitate to make the switch to different runners. The msd looks like a nice product though. I think its going to be very tight on an fbody so I'm interested to see how/if it fits one

Indeed. It's in the Gen4 external section. I had another discussion with Patrick a few days ago and the FINAL version will indeed. It's literally the exact same height as an LS6 intake.

Anyway, glad to see some folks getting "hands on". Can't wait to see what it does!

Does it have MAP provisions in the front or just the back? That intake looks huge in that pic.

Looks sweet. I wonder if FAST will lower the price seeing they've cornered the market for years...

It actually has three different map sensor location options, in the back like an ls6, on top in the back, and in the front.

Brien, how easily do you think one could be painted? I know a lot have had good success with painting the FAST intakes with simple rattle can paint. I was just curious how the material feels compared to the FAST intake.
