Default 5th gen cats on 4th gen Camaro

Hello everyone. I have a 1999 z28 no cats. I'm moving to California where they do emission testing. Can I put the catalytic convertors from a 2010-2013 Camaro ss on my car ? these are easier to find than 1998-2002 model.

I would just get a Catted Y-pipe... much easier to find and install over trying to frankenstein the exhaust.

Even if you can get them to fit chances are you won't pass smog with them if they don't look 100% stock. I'm sure there is some law against using cats that weren't intended for their application. Would it be possible to keep your car registered in your current state so you don't have to deal with smog?
