I wanted to see what is a good oil pan that will have oem fitment,I have a stock k member if that means something when dealing with pans. I was also wondering if there is a step by step stickies on how to do the swap out since in Wyoming they charge a s*** load. Thanks for yall help

Why not use another stock pan? Unless you're racing, there's really no need for aftermarket. plenty of cheap used pans available. even new take offs crop up occasionally.

Why is your's cracked?

Street & performance has take off pans. You didn't say what vehicle, should we assume 98 to 02' f-body ?

Another option would be draining, clean , scuff, reclean & use jb weld over the area. If done right , it will work wonders. Temporarily fixed a few spots on my gas tank for over 20 years now, guess it's done ok.

Just need proper prep & application, it will stick like hell to clean rough aluminum.

I got my replacement f-body pan (if that's the vehicle, anyway) from Summit for ~$220.

You have to lower the K member and raise the motor. I did it alone with no problems thanks to a little research on here. There's several threads with tons of info.

This thing was also a big help.

Quit fooling around and get a tubular K-frame from UMI or BMR.

Does anybody make a stamped steel pan for our cars? One that would dent, not crack on impact with a foreign object?

no you wouldn't want one, the oil pan on these engines are actually apart of the engine support.. Front and rear covers bolt into the pan and it all works as a system..

Milodon and Canton make steel racing pans that are listed to fit. Both pans require an external filter or special filter setup. Better than a stock pan with it's tiny oil passages.
