Default Cam sensor single or 3 pole?

I'm having someone order me a timing chain and he's asking if I have a single or 3 pole?

Anyone know?

It's a 01 Camaro SS
346

Thanks!

On an LS1 the cam sensor is in the rear of the engine. LS2 and up are in the front hence the different timing gears.

Okay do I tell him single or 3? I just realized this is "external engine".

Sounds like the guy is asking about the cam sensor reluctor built into the gear. If the car in your sig has the stock wiring/ECM, it doesn't matter (as long as it's a 3-bolt gear) because your sensor reads the reluctor on the rear of the cam...

In the LS1 & LS6 engines, the cam sensor is at the ear of the cam.

Your cam gear has zero bumps or poles on it.
