^what he said. It's a solenoid that opens and closes the air injection valve on the pollution control/emissions system. So if you have had the pollution control removed or aftermarket headers that all would be removed.

Figured it out , not sure what it is but I took the rail off again and reached behind the intake and found a connector with a clip, it clips onto the bracket on the intake. I don't think it's AIR related on a C5 (plus mine is deleted), I think the F-body has an AIR solenoid there. Possibly a knock sensor on a C5?

The knock sensor plugs are underneath the intake manifold. The wire does run out of the back of the intake but the plugs themselves are under it and hopefully for you still plugged in. I still think its part of a removed AIR injection set up for pollution that was removed. I will attach a picture. The red circle is approx where the plug connects to it you just cant see it in the picture because its under the hose. If your car was already tuned for having it removed then its not hurting anything and shouldn't be throwing any codes.
