Default Coolant crossover tube not fitting w/ FAST 102

I am in the process of putting my motor back together and i am at a stopping point. I put a FAST 102 on and now my coolant crossover tube will not fit. The tube is hitting the bottom of the lower plenum. I tried to install the intake with the tube hooked up, but the front of the intake would not seat properly so i removed the tube. now that the intake is on and torqued down, the tube will not fit back in. It is almost like I have to bend the center of the tube down for it to go around the plenum.

Car is a 2002 z28, so it already has the single crossover in the front and the plugs in the rear. i am going by the instructions provided by FAST and it says to change over to my style coolant tube/plugs for the 98-00 camaro/firebird's.

Has anyone else come into this issue?

here is a Link to a LS1howto.com where they swap the LS1 intake to the LS6 intake and they make room under the new intake to fit the LS6, its reliable and might help you out some, has photos you can click on to see close up views, hope this helps some dude !

Oh !

I understand now, sorry man, you could always "cut" the coolant tube in half and take a few inches out, than put a thick rubber fuel hose on and hose clamp each side, than you would have the hose to slack over or under the throttle body?

I have a 2005 chevy Duramax with a stage 2 garret turbo and I did thick rubber fuel hose to have some slack on the engine coolant in and out line, works fantastic and I push that truck hard...

I like that idea! I will have to do that. Would there be an issue with me getting rid of the TB heater port so i can just go ahead and rid myself of the bypass?

personally I would keep the coolant Bypass system dude....to be safe, I would get creative and run a heater hose or fuel line hose with tight hose clamps, to give good slack to run around the tight areas of the new 102 LSXR manifold than you would be 100% confident your throttle body is safe and wont have to worry about anything going terribly wrong,

Could you post a photo of that monster manifold when your all done? that's sounds like a fun Up-Grade dude !

I decided to just keep the "steam vent". I have some 1/4" fuel hose laying around and just used a hacksaw to cut through the pipe.

here is how the intake is sitting on the motor.

I know it may be a tab bit too much for a VRX5 cam and stock 241 heads but I have a spare lq4 that is going to be built into a boosted 408 and this intake will be used on that.

Sweet ! that is a Awesome Project dude, and I bet you will notice some big Power gains, have you seen the SLP Underdrive Balancer/Crank Pulley ? it is a good upgrade if you have the engine opened up anyway and helps with bigger torque power,

glad to see you got it worked out.

Was gonna recommend an aftermarket vent setup. I have the Kurt Urban setup. Installation is a breeze and it's funny when all the Honda kids accuse me of having "NAWZZZ".

I tried bending it down but it just made the distance from end to end shorter so i couldnt bolt both sides down. Now im at another stop. Have to file down my water pump. my NW TB is hitting on the right side just enough to give me a 1/8" gap on the bottom between the TB and IM

ya bolt the tube down first then put the intake on and bend it till it clears. Takes literally 2 mins
