Default Bolts keep coming loose on Fast 102 intake?

Just wondering if anyone has this problem and how they solved if? Most of the time it's the front ones that are closest to the TB that holds the upper and lower pieces together. But I get some turns on some others too.

I followed the torque specs and everything. I just put the new motor and intake in at the end of summer and was going over bolts after a couple runs to see if any worked loose. The only ones were on the intake lol. I started having idling issues so I checked the bolts and yep loose again.

Is there something I'm missing? I don't think it said to loctite them but I'm about ready to

I don't think it would hurt anything to some low strength loctite on them. Don't really know what else you could do

I recommend repeating the torque sequence multiple times until all the mount bolts remain at the recommended torque spec. The check it again within 7days.
Fyi, any time I have removed then reinstalled my FAST 92 intake I had to repeat the torque sequence at least 4 times. If you're having issues with the bolts that hold the upper and lower shells together loosing, use blue Loctite on the threads.

It seems to be common to have to re torque them a few times on a new intake. There's gonna be some material compression taking place. I've had to go over mine a few times as well.

Don't put red Loctite use the 242. it has less strength but it holds very well.
Red Loctite like 271 could cause problems later down the road if you ever decide to remove it

Yes, blue loctite should be more than sufficient.

Ok I figured I would have to retighten them once but I wasn't expecting this many times lol. I will only use blue loctite the red would be overkill lol. Thanks guys.

Do you understand the difference between material compression and bolts loosening? Doesn't sound like you do if your next step is to use loctite.

I agree with this. I have swapped lots of intakes for LS1 cars be it they are upgrading to the LS6 or an aftermarket intake. I have even reused the factory bolts for those guys to cheap to buy arp bolts or cheap gm replacements. The only way I see the bolts continually coming loose is if the treads are stripped on the bolts are in the heads. Get a 6mm tap and chase the threads in the heads and invest in some new bolts. Use lots of lube on the tap and clean the holes out good afterwards.

I ran internal star lock washers under the bolt heads on my intake for many years with no issues. Did the same under the main bolts aswell because I had problems with the loosening up. Solved my problem

I understand the compression of material but if it keeps coming loose I don't have a choice. I'm not redoing this all the time. I'm already did it 3x.

Is this with the F.A.S.T. 102 in your sig? What if any steam/coolant lines are under this manifold?

You need to confirm that the bolts are turning out.

Torque them in as they should be and mark them. Watch them and see if they're turning out.

No coolant lines underneath at all. Running aftermarket 4 corner setup that runs above the intake.

OK. Mark them up and see if they're turning or if something's settling/compressing.
