Default SLP lid and 90mm TB fitment

I'm in the process of installing my Fast 90 and all went well except now the SLP lid wont fit due to the 90mm TB sticking out a little further than the stocker apparently. Basically I can't get the lid to slide into the slots and clamp down because of all this. Anyone ever experience this? If so what did you do? Thanks

What bellow are you using between the TB and the MAFS?

Also, what TB are you using ?

You've gotta ditch the smooth bellow. I did when I went to a 92 before I eventually went Speed Density.

Either cut down both ends of the SLP bellow to no wider than the hose clamp bands, or put the factory bellow back on.
I've tried both and you still get the best lid fitment with using the stock bellow.

Stock bellows. (It's not as bad as it sounds). There won't be a power difference. It's limber and allows it to align itself again.

This happen to me too. I noticed the rubber coupler (smooth bellows) wasn't seated tightly against the throttle body. All I did was put some spit on the coupler and it slid right on the throttle body. Some people have to cut the coupler too because it's too long. To cut a straight edge on the coupler just leave the clamp on it to guide the razor blade.

Well I got the bellow to slide up all the way on the TB tightly so I guess I need to trim it like you're saying scotty, or go with the stock bellow. DrWhigham is the stock bellow physically shorter than the SLP one.

I'll get a pic tomorrow for you guys. I need like another inch or so to get the lid to slide into the little slots so I can lock it down. Does that make sense?

Makes total sense. Yea either trim the bellow or throw the stock one back on.The flexibility of the stock one helps jiggle things around.

Also, do any of you know is it normal for the TB blade to be "slightly" opened when installed. After the install I noticed mine is open just a tiny bit

If it's only doing it with the throttle cable connected to TB cam then you just need to adjust the length on the throttle cable cover.

No I've adjusted it already and it's as far as it will go, still leaving the blade just very slightly opened

Try taking the throttle cable out of the mount slot in the mount bracket and see if it helps. If it does then consider making the 2 mount holes in the side of the bracket oval so you can move the bracket slightly forward.

Another question.
How many throttle cable mount positions does the Throttle Body cable cam have in it ?
If it has 2, which one did you mount the cable in, and have you tried both ?

Just trim it a tad, and put it in a pot of boiling water for a few minutes to help it stretch. Done!

Thanks guys! 99Bluz28, there is only one mount position for the cable. Thats what came with the Fast. The bracket I had on my LS6 intake had 2. Maybe I could switch them. If that doesn't work then maybe I'll try modifying the mount holes like you mentioned. As far as the throttle cam...I'll have to look again since I saw only one position for the cable to go in. But the question still remains...is it normal for the blade to be cracked open slightly when the engine is off?

01ssreda4, I got the bellow to successfully fit the aTB, but I'll try that little trick if it needs to come of so I can trim it. Thanks

No it's not normal. There's an adjustment halfway up the throttle cable, as well as a small plastic piece that can be removed inside the cruise control module.

Post a pic of your TB. My Nick Williams has I believe 3 holes to choose from. It was minor adjustments from there. I also had my wife get in the car and put the pedal all the way down to ensure I was getting a full open blade. That's actually how I figured out I was in the wrong hole to begin with.
