Default Review and install guide for the MSD Atomic AirForce intake manifold.

Hey guys.... I got this yesterday.

In the coming days/week or so, I'll be doing a full review of it and installing it. There will be a couple things you'll need to do to run it on a gen 3 motor, like getting an ls2/3 fuel rail, different o-rings for the bottom of ls1 injectors, and whatever else I discover as I install it. Right now, I'm very impressed with it. It's replacing a FAST 90mm intake, which I know isn't the latest offering from FAST, but it's what I have.

Right now, I know it will fit without having to modify the cowl or drop the motor, which is a good thing.

So stay tuned.

So everything else will be the same except switching the Fast 90 for this intake? Will you be dynoing on the same dyno?

Congrats! That's the first one I've seen delivered. Looking forward to following the install. Will you also be testing?

For the sake of being thorough, you should weigh both intakes. It looks beefy compared to a fast.

This won't be a performance review since I literally changed everything from my last setup, cubic inches or the motor, exhaust manifolds, blower, cam, heads are cathedral port PI heads that had valve job work done to them and had chamber work done as well.

Well, my FAST 90 was 12lbs, and I'll weigh the MSD as well.

Is this MSD for LS3 or LS7 Heads? I saw rectangle ports in your photos
on the other thread.
Thought the LS7 heads were out first didn't know LS3 were available yet!

He runs the cathedral PI heads. No clue where he got this one at because I didn't think the LS1/6 version was ready to ship yet. Did it come from a vendor or directly from MSD?

It is cathedral, here's the underside of both.

Yeah, it doesn't look like the LS1 version is available until late April so you must have received one early. I wish someone would get some n/a results on the LS1 version.

Well, there was a thread earlier today from a company that said they had the LS1/6 version ready to ship, but I can't find the thread now. It stated they had other versions too, but specifically said they had a few of the LS1/6 version intakes there and ready to ship out. I'll keep looking for it.

Guys, I literally just walked in the door a few moments ago after spending the weekend in New Orleans with the wifey. Needless to say, I'm exhausted. Give me a few minutes and I'll set the intake on the block and put the shock tower brace on. (we have shocks, not struts. )
