Default What type rtv for oil pan?

what type of RTV are you guys using on the oil pan corners? I'd rather not have to do this twice...

A tiny bit of black rtv works fine. But honestly I've had that leak more times than just doing it dry

Permatex ultra black is my first choice, ultra blue would be my second.

i use ultra copper for pretty much everything these days, only stuff ive found that doesnt break down over time, and it works fantastic for sealing block halves together.

Loctite 5900, this stuff is the best i have ever used. OEM's use this in place of gaskets.

The copper looks good. I wonder why they don't carry it in the parts stores here?

The loctite is pricey.

We use this. It's primarily for gear compartments, but finding regular rtv turned to slippery "snot", has led us to this.
That, and 9" Fords that insist on leaking....

For some reason ive had bad luck with that. Went back to black and have had no more issues.
