Default Max street hookable HP?

Hello all.

Considering you got the best suspension setup and drag radials...what is the most useable hp you can push to the wheels for stop light street races? What about 60 mph roll races? Lets say on a GTO.

theres a tire that will hook just about anything. so if you're spinning with any amount of hp get better tires lol. In all seriousness I make 450/440 and on the street 1st gear is fairly useless with street tires. 2nd gear is hit or miss, if I had dr's though that would all be a different story. So truthfully you should focus on tire choice and just make the most power possible

I would say 400whp is about all you are going to "dead" hook on the street from a dig with the suspension set up right and a good tire on a full weight GTO with IRS. Prepping the street changes things along with weight reduction. Lots of variables here...

Smile

on GTOs suspension upgrades are a must.

mine takes some technique to hook and spins at 80 mph with a hard 2-3 shift lol.

nittos are ok but id go with some MTs if youre making moderate to serious HP.
