Default Dorman LS6 intake hits the dyno

Don't know if this has been posted yet. But someone finally put the dorman intake on the dyno. And it performed on par with the original LS6! LS6 intake prices have been getting out of hand. Once word of this gets out it should provide some relief. http://www.onallcylinders.com/2014/12/04/dorman-ls6-intake-dyno-test/

Cant view link right now. How did they determine that it was on par with the LS6?

It retails for $339 on Summit according to the link. LS6 intakes are usually $375-400 bare and some can be had in the low $300s if you wait around. I'd pay the extra $50 or so to have an OEM part. If they were under $300 I think they would be a hit. Just my two cents.

I don't know what's up with the link. Copy and paste the link in the address bar and it works.

I'm looking for an LS6 intake right now. But everyone wants 400 PLUS shipping! Then I have to pay someone to tune out my EGR. I'm sorry. I would love to have an OEM LS6, but I can't just the extra cost for a used intake when I can get a brand new one that performs just as well for much much less.

I paid $294 shipped through Parts Geek with the SAVE15 discount code.

Nice! How is it performing for you? I glad there is a new option and people no longer have to get suckered into paying over 400 dollars for a freakin used intake.

It's currently sitting on the shelf unfinished. My build escalated FAR past the point of that intake being a restriction. I'll toss it on another car down the road, when I finally get around to finishing it.

I've been following all the threads on this intake in hopes that someone chimes in with some good results. Really hoping it turns out to be a solid performer for everyone! It's a bargain at $300 for the potential I think it has. I'm especially looking forward to the 90 mm they are working on now though.

obviously not a stock LS1 or even close to stock. the Dorman intake seemed to be down 10hp and 10lb/ft of torque all across the board. would have been nice to see this test on a stockish motor.

It was down by 5 on a modified engine. And it wasn't down any until the 4500 rpm range.
