stock, pro, known configuration.

SLP 85, cons, ghetto "calibration" with a resistor.

Ryan (stock maf, or Z06/Truck 85mm with computer tuning.

I have a 85mm on my car, it replaced a home ported stocker. I wasted 135 bucks! I have swapped them at the track several times and I don't see a bit of difference in mph. Maybe the comparison to a ported stocker isn't fair but either way,,,, I didn't get no extra HP for my extra monetary outlay!

Maybe once I get the car tuned up after the cam and headers, the 85mm will help matters some but I sorta doubt it.

My friend car Camaro 99/M6 he tried the stock maf Borted and SLP85mm maf on his setup H/C. the stock Borted maf runs better than SLP maf, and the car already have LS1edit.

The SLP will be great in stock internal.

I have had no problems at all with the SLP MAF (other that I think it cost too much)
Car runs great with it, and seems to rev a slight bit quicker than stock. It takes the computer a few miles to adjust for the new MAF, so don't expect an immediate change. Give it about 50 miles before you decide if it is not for you...

a tuner will know how the output for the stock, or any other OEM grade maf.

slp does not provide flowsheets for their maf.

without known output... its worthless in my opinion.

all i can say, is i sold the slp 85mm maf i acquired, and NEVER even installed it on my car... so thats my views on this part.

I had it and auto tap showed kncok retard with it at high RPM's. Before aotu tatp I actually though it was helping the car rev faster but then when i hooked up auto tap, the truth was told. I went back to my stocker with granatelli anodized maf ends to match my powdercoated TB and I think thats all you need up to about 450 HP.

I know I kinda wasted my $ on the grtanatelli ends but that not the only thing I have wasted money on on my car. I think the count is up around 12 grand now. kinda makes me with I sold the car for 18k when I had the chance and took that plus my 12k and gotten a Z06 or saved till the c6 gets here. But I still LOVE my car.

On the SLP 85mm MAF. I say NO..................Its a truck MAF!

thanks u all for the replies im thinking stay with the stock one all so.
i know when i was running the slp 85 it seemed to pull harder from a roll
but at top end i had alot of knock retard show up on auto tap. going to give my stock one time to relearn and autotap it this week.

If you're making power and do dyno tuning go with the larger MAF, but don't throw it on without dyno tuning on a mostly stock car and expect much.

aftermarket and ported MAF's are recockulous, i lost 10+rwhp with a ported MAF and it is also the suspected reason for dropping my tranny. The stock one is fine, just leave it alone.
