Default V Band clamp fix

I got some stainless V band clamps from ebay and the bolts are small already but stainless makes them even weaker. One broke on the second time I tightened it and the other felt tight so I didn't even try. A 1/4" grade 8 bolt 3" long with flat and lock washers will replace the crappy one that comes on it.

First advice is keep male and female parts together and clamped and WELD SLOWLY! It warps easily and just a little bit off and the pieces wont go back together.

As for the bolt, cut it from the "T", grind off the nub and push what's left out of the sleeve. The sleeve will have one side drilled now and just drill it all the way through.

There is the fixed sleeve thing on the other side that cant swing around so there is a lip on each side to grind down a little until it faces the other way.

I should have taken more pics but here is the finished product...
