Default LQ9 truck intake and injector help

I have a 2003 LQ9 engine that is stock except it has competition cam xr275 with the 918 spring and headers. It don't seem like the fast intakes are much better than the truck intake. It looks like the advantages only starts around 5500 rpm. A lot articles are say the LQ9 injectors reach their limits around 5500 rpm. That makes me curious if the truck intake had say the 42 pound 8.1 injector they might not be much of a difference above 5500 rpm compared to a fast intake. Has anyone done this and did the bigger injectors make a big difference at high rpms? Any input would be appreciated. This combo is going into a 70 Nova with 6 speed.

Injectors don't make a difference unless they are maxed out. The reason the LQ9 taps out at 5500 is the cam. You will still need to upgrade because the LQ9 injectors are at there limit stock. You can either put the 8.1 truck injectors in(very easy to program since they are factory injectors) or the 8.1 marine injectors since they both plug right into your harness.
