I'm in a market to buy an envoy denali. Seller sent me a picture of the engine bay and there is a red wire going from alternator to harness sticking out. My friend with an 03 suburban has an yellow wire sticking out the same way going into the wiring harness loom. Was there a previous problem with alternator charging or is it like this from the factory?

Just looks like someone replaced the wire with new. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
