Default Stepped Headers worth it?

I'm about to pull the trigger on a set of Kooks True Duals but can't decide which headers to get, the conventional 1 7/8" or the 1 3/4" x 1 7/8" Stepped. There's over a $300 difference between so just wondering if anyone has had any experience.

Stock cubes for now but plan to get a stroker kit and add some nitrous later on.
