Default Corsa+Long Tubes+ORY=Too Loud...

Just got back from one of the "maiden voyages" of my summer build: A 300mile round trip up north and back... And boy is the interior noise too loud!

I know... I know... I'm getting old, but when the exhaust leaves your ears ringing after 3 hours on the road... I think it might be too much...

I have new heads, ARH 1 3/4" Long tubes with ORY, flowing into a Corsa Cat back...

Now, I want to calm the interior noise at the very least... and maybe cut the actual exhaust noise back some as well (I think it may draw too much attention in these congested parts, which makes me always think twice about punching the throttle wherever I am...).

But how would you guys go about fixing this? The way I see it, my options are:

1) Put a bullet muffler in the I-pipe

2) Add a good layer of sound deadener to the trunk/rear seat area

3) Scrap the Corsa and go with a more mellow exhaust.

4) Put a bullet muffler AND soundproof.

What are your thoughts?

Very surprised at this, Corsa is normally very mellow especially at cruise.

Certainly adding some type of bullet in the I would absorb some of the noise. Look at vibrant performance, as they make a bullet style resonator that would do the trick as well as match the rest of the SS exhaust.

Best of Luck

just sound deaden the interior.. cheaper than trying to replace the exhaust again

Nothing.. keep your exhaust alone!!

Im running TSP 233/239, 1 7/8, and ran duals with 1 chamber flowmasters. That was pretty loud. Swapped exhaust to a y pipe and corsa and its perfect.

Yea, I'm surprised as well... It was nice and mellow before.... And sounded badass when you got on it.

Put the long tubes on and it's a drone factory when cruising anywhere between 60-80mph.

Maybe I'll try the bullet, with a new I-pipe to combat the drone.

May want to look at the y merge that can cause unwanted noise as well.

It's ARH: I though they were one of the better merges?

I was flamed on another thread....but I have seen at least 2 ARH merges that were inferior to say the least.

They make awesome products but that doesn't insure quality in every product produced. 100% inspection is 80% effective.

I wouldn't even know what to look for in the merge.

Slag and or uneven flow path. Anything that would obstruct the even flow of the exhaust from the 2-1 merge.

I'll wait until the spring. I'm not crawling underneath and fighting the exhaust anymore this year, haha.
