Iron block question

I bought a 5.3 from a friend of a friend, and when I was bolting on my accessories I noticed there was a predrilled hole on the block for car accessories. What year did they start that?

Don't know they ever came from the factory like that. Maybe they did in a suv?

Do sure what year or application they started this. But most 6.0 blocks I ve seen don't have. It Don't have the one at the 9 O'clock position either.
