Race collecters,4-2-1 or merge???

Default Race collecters,4-2-1 or merge???

I"m building an all out race only ls-1 around 427 c.i. power range is 4500 to 7500,4500 stall with a Powerglide and 4.56 gears,car wt is 2000lbs.CR is 12 to 1 and heads are stage 3 ls6"s.I"m thinking 1 7/8 x 30 to 32 in.primaries,can"t decide about the collecters,4-2-1 or Merge??May shoot some N.O. too probably 2 stage 200 t0 300 shot.What about 3.5 inches for diameter??

4-2-1 with 3 merges like the bike guys do it ,keeps topend and great midrange.Just go to your local nascar exhaust fabricator and hand him your wallet.

My Edelbrock Longtubes are welded up and ready to go on. They feature a stepped design with 1 7/8" to 1 3/4" and a true merge collector. This would be a great design for what you want to do. They only cost me $389 shipped through Summit. They came with O2 extensions, O2 bungs, and weld on emissions hardware. We wont need the emissions crap, but the O2 extensions alone are worth 30 bucks. They also have 3.5 inch collectors that are weld on so you can tune the primaries to your own liking. The juice will love the step and the merge collector. These headers should make more power than any other ive seen. Well have to see though.
