Default FAST 92 Intake questions - Full boltons 2000 Z28

The LS6 intake would be the best option for my application (full exhaust, lid, K&& filter, 3200 stall, 373 gears) , but it's not really an option for my car. Being a 2000 Z28, I would need the EGR hook up.

I can't find a used SLP LS6 intake that comes with the EGR hook up.
I was hoping to get the FAST 78mm, but they don't make it anymore.

It seems that my only option is the FAST 92mm.

I know that it's going to be overkill, but I don't see any other options.

Question 1) Will going with such a big intake on a stock engine hurt performance in any way?
Question 2) Other than a 92mm throttle body, what else am I going to need for the swap?

I would appreciate any and all info.

You will gain a few hp even with bolt ons. When you order the intake it should come with the necessary hardware

92 wont be overkill, its pretty similar to the 90. I picked up a nice chunk from my Ported Fast 92, ported LS2 TB & 85mm maf. You can use your stock steam vent if you smash it down a bit also be very careful w/ your oil pressure sending unit in the rear because they snap very easy.

Thanks for your input!

I'm going to have a shop do all of the work.
I was concerned that I would have to buy new hardware such as fuel rails and such.

Another concern that I have is the MAF. Since my budget has been obliterated, I would hate to have to buy a bigger MAF. Would it be feasible to keep my stock MAF?

Thanks

The FAST 92mm intake will accept stock fuel rails. If you were to go with a FAST 102mm intake, you'd need aftermarket fuel rails.

In regards to your MAF, since I assume you're getting the car tuned after the FAST intake install, you could always opt to go Speed Density tuned and get rid of the MAF altogether.

You can grab a 85mm Truck Maf off Ebay for 40 bucks, and then just the adapter. Worth every penny.

That is correct, I'm definitely getting my car dyno tuned.

As appealing as it sounds to eliminate the MAF altogether, I would rather keep it.

Do I have any viable options that would allow me to keep the stock MAF?

Wow! I didn't even think about that. Would I have any problems such as codes?

This guy seems to be using the stock MAF on his FAST 102. According to him, he purchased the bellow at Home Depot for $7.99

If you go to intakehoses.com, you can find what you need. If you're getting the car tuned anyway, any "codes" thrown by a different MAF can be tuned out. I still think going SD would be fine, but that's just me. I have a SD tune, and removed the MAF completely and run one of the 4x6 rubber hoses from intakehoses.com, and it looks and performs great.

You would need a tune after the maf anyway, delete it out.
