Default Do I need a longer belt?

I got my car back together after head/intake swap and upon starting it, I'm noticing a very slight...metallic grinding sound? It's hard to describe and I don't think a video would pick it up well. Its not an alarming sound at all, but I think maybe my new drive belt is a little tight. It was really tight to put on with the tensioner pulled all the way, the tensioner didn't give at all when I let off with the belt in place. Should I try like .5-1" longer belt? I have an under drive pulley so I had to get shorter than factory length, so it's a 76".
