Default Is this Exhaust Rattle? Or what the hell?

Around 58 seconds into the video when I'm coasting down to 60. It does it pretty much all the time in the 56-62mph range. Is it the exhaust? Torque arm?

Hep.

The video isn't 58 seconds long.. But from what I heard it sounds like the exhaust touching something.

My borla cat-back used to rattle somewhere in the rear of the car, I backed into an abnormally high concrete parking marker one day and mangled the bottom of my one exhaust tip. Ever since then it hasn't rattled lol

I think the over the axle part was hitting something, and the hit caused the exhaust to move just far enough forward that it isn't hitting anymore.

I do have a rattling up front still, but I believe the drivers side cat or pipe after the cat is hitting the k member. My car has 130k on the stock motor mounts, so it really doesn't shock me.

fix the drone or quiet the exhaust down and it will go away. I am guessing something in the tunnel area vibrating from the resonance.

Resonators? New mufflers? How do I quiet it down?

Cats, 14" resonators, or different mufflers would all probably do the trick. If you do not want to hack up the exhaust get the kooks catted x with high flow cats. I heard they do not give up much power.

It's rattling against something. I've clearanced under there twice. But I'll take a look again this weekend. It is either touching the axle or the DSL loop...

At one point it was touching the TA relo bracket. I'm going to remove it this weekend too. I have a new one to try that hopefully won't rub the trans tailshaft... That's not helping the vibration either.

I had my 02 wideband bung cap come loose and it made a hell of a rattle (but all the time when it came loose).

The header isn't rubbing on the k member on the driver side is it? You running poly motor and Trans mounts? My center console rattles every since I did my poly Trans mount.. also check where the cat back loops over the rear axle.. seen that before too.

Maybe check it with the rear end loaded.. on some drive on ramps on all 4 corners so you see it all when it's in its actual state when driving.. just a random though

I have a similar buzzing sound in mine. It's the rear floor pan/trunk area. It's so loud with so much resonance causing it on mine. I might try putting some dynamat in to quiet it down.

jake have you checked the heat shield thats on top of the over axle pipe? My old 3" catback sat very high and would rub that heat shield over the axle and make a very similar sound.

I ripped all the heat shield off. I run lavamat everywhere.

I'm in the middle of swapping the cam. I plan to get the car up in the air this weekend after the cam swap is done and go over the exhaust. It's definitely hitting. At 70, it's smooth... well I shouldn't say completely smooth. Even at 2200rpm it makes a pulsing sound. But that might be the cam profile... It definitely is quiet at 1500rpm and tolerable at 2200. But in that 1700-2000 range... agh. The drone + rattle is driving me insane.

One reason why I wanted to swap to less cam and a supercharger. I may do the Kooks Cats as well to take some of the edge off.

on my own car the torque arm was rattling off the ds safety loop , took almost a year & 4 shops to find cause.
