Default Pacesetter Y-pipe?

I tried searching for this but havent found anything. Ive heard some pretty bad things about the pacesetter Y-pipe, but im curious to know. How much would it take to make them worth it? Or would it be cheaper in the long run just to buy the QTP y-pipe? Im just not sure If im able to afford a $300 Y-pipe. I saw you can put the flowmaster merge collector on the pacesetter but I need more details about it. Thanks

If you're interested in a Pacesetter ORY to fiddle around with. I have mine left from my old exhaust.

Only 2500 miles on it. I'm having my cutouts removed on Thurs.. I'm letting it go for $100 shipped..

Lightbulb

The latest revision to the Pacesetter Y-pipe is much improved and while it isn't quite of Flowmaster merge quality/performance it does appear to be a real merge now as opposed to a 'T' pipe.

While crude. I used a blower to test the scavenge. Scavenging is excellent on the same bank. But from one bank to the other, it isn't so great. Instead of creating a suction on the other bank, it blows air out. This indicates that the "y" sucks. The two pipes need to be as parallel as possible to promote scavenging(like the flowmaster Y).

If I were you, get some estimates from local shop, ask around and find someone good. Then have a custom one made.

Thats probably what ill end up doing. Would it be better to buy a merge collector and have the shop do the rest? Or just let them do it all?

I would buy the collector and have them install.
