Help me beat my wife...
Seriously. A few years back I bought her a Plum Crazy SRT8 Charger and so now that I have a Firebird again I have a real problem. The exhaust on my new car is bone stock, flat Y-pipe and everything so it is pathetically quiet. (the Kia we have seems louder for the Pete's sake)
So obviously a new exhaust is the plan.
I have read literally every thread on here about exhausts (or at least it feels like it) and watched hundreds of YouTube sound clips, and for me it seems like the SLP Loudmouth 1 will give the the sound I am looking for.
(I plan to keep the stock manifolds and cats and just drive the wheels off of this car, no plans for anything extreme)
The issue I am having is that the best possible set up for a guy like me (stock manifolds and cats) really seems to be Hooker's new Blackheart True Duals, however it is so new there are very few sound clips and they all sound way to subtle for my application.
My total budget is about $1,000 so price isn't the issue what I am worried about is spending that kind of money just to have a car that sounds about the same as the wife's Charger. I really need it to have more.
So who all has heard the Hooker Blackheart system in person? How does it sound compared the the stock SRT8s that are out there?

Just about any catback should sound more aggressive than a bone stock SRT8 IMO. With that said I have no clue about the Hooker system, but the LM1 sounds damn good to me with stock manifolds and catted y-pipe

I can vouch for the SLP Loudmouth, I have one and its pretty loud and it sounds good. The other choice would be to straight-pipe it, but your neighbors may not like you very much anymore.

First off, I have Long tube headers and no cats. BUT, I set up a custom exhaust very similar to the hooker black heart system, with pypes M80 mufflers in place of theirs. My mufflers are extremely quiet in my opinion INSIDE the car. But apparently its REALLY loud outside. I took a video and here ill share it. Never got over 4,500 RPM. Its louder in person.

Thanks for all of the quick replies. This car will have the stock manifolds and cats for quite some time, perhaps someday when I have the spare funds to rebuild everything it may happen but for it sounds like the Loudmouth is the way to go.
The Blackheart is likely the better system but it sounds like it will be too quiet for what I am looking for. Of course I may end up buying a Loudmouth II muffler if the one is too much but my 69 Mercury had old fashioned cherry bombs at it was way too quiet.

I had stock exhaust and put a Borla adjustable cat back, you can adjust the sound. It sounded really good, nice & loud. Instead of the plates to adjust sound I put an electric cutout in its place. It stayed open, never closed it.
