Default Need starter for my 99 ls1 formula tomorrow. 5.3 or 6.0 truck

So one of the ears broke on the starter luckily. Not the block. So what year do I need to ask Advance Auto for. And what engine. I read one thread said 5.3 worked. And then further down it said it had less teeth than the ls1.

So get a 6.0 starter.

Can someone tell me what truck to ask from tomorrow and year. I'd like to do this once.

The 5.3 starters have 9 teeth, the 6.0 starters have 11 teeth. For an ls1 you want 11.

well that makes sense then . I knew someone posted that info but it was backwards or a read it wrong . They said both work one has more torque than the other .
