Default Advice for MAF

Hey guys. I am in need of a mass air flow sensor. I think my Slp one took a dump. Looking for suggestions for a new one. My car is a 93 Z28 that I have swapped to a Lq4. It has a LS6 intake along with a ported throttle body. It also has a LT1 styke K&N air intake. Right now I am running my brothers stock MAF from a 01 WS6.

Leave the stock one on there. I've yet to see solid evidence that there is anything to gain until you are in the 450rwhp range or higher and even then it's not much.

At most a truck 85mm MAF would work but it requires an adapter harness and a tune.

Ok. I already have the adapter harness. Don't plan on getting a tune until I do a heads and cam swap which will probably be in the next 6 months so I will look for a stock one. I have found a stock one, but it is $150 for a remanufactured AC delco. Found a Delphi for cheaper, but it is made of plastic. Just want to make sure I get a good one that isn't going to fail, but don't want to spend a arm and a leg.

I'd bet you can grab a stock one in the classifieds here for $30-40 shipped.

Don't you have to retune for that?

You should retune. I put mine on and it actually ran pretty good. Others had less luck

Right now I am just going to run my brothers till he needs it back.(his car is down) Will upgrade to the truck maf when I change the cam and heads because I will need a tune anyways.
