LM7 accessory drive help
Novice guy here. Thought it would be fun to build a 1950
Chevy truck with my son. It is, but definitely learning as I go. So I bought a wrecked 2012 GMC Sierra with a 5.3 LM7 and a 6l80E transmission and installed it in the 1950 Chevy truck. Long story short the engine is beyond the firewall about 2-3 inches into the cab. I have heard that I may be able to take off the existing accessories and bolt on shallower accessories possibly from a LS1, LS2 or LS3 off a Corvette motor. I would like to move my engine forward and out of the cab. That is where I am stuck. Does anyone have experience with this and can give me some guidance on what I need to accomplish this goal?

I've always found a gen 4 harder to do a simple swap with. Flex fuel, AFM, DBW, not my favorite things to work with.
LM7 stopped production in 07.
If its a gen 4, you have 3 options (since its from a Sierra).
Standard iron block is LY5. Flex fuel version is LMG, and Aluminum flex fuel version is LC9.
You can use accessories from any other LS, though if you have an iron block it won't be drilled for the F-body alternator mount. You can just drill/trap it yourself though.

Unfortunately we dont have the VIN number anymore. The donor truck was scrapped already. It seems that its a toss up between the LY5 and LMG at this point. Im 90% positive I remember it being an flex fuel truck which would make it an LMG. Its an Iron block so that rules out the LC9
Hopefully there is something stamped on the block that will help us determine?
