I think the cams on the truck TB's are a little smaller, causing the throttle plate to open quicker, and WOT quicker. Say bye bye to your gas! You might have to tinker with the throttle cable too.

I used a truck core for my homeported TB that
had the smaller cam & brown spring. I swapped
my stock shaft on. Had to also swap the PCV
nipple. I cut off the coolant nipples & boss for
more room to route the bypass underneath.
The aluminum casting had the same number
for both.

The 98/99 f-body and the trucks use the same round throttle camber. With the 00+'s you'll need the oval throttle shaft from the 00+ for it to work. The coolant lines on the bottom are different, but with the TB bypass it doesn't matter. The PCV tube on the top left is also different, but if you cut it shorter and angle it to clear the manifold, it works perfectly. Other than that, the TB's are the same and can be used interchangeably.

I was able to remove the PCV bungs from my cores
using a fat Philips screwdriver and working them
back & forth; I just swapped on the stumpy one
from my stocker and pressed it down real good
the same way.

dang... hi jacking a 6 1/2 year old thread. You will need to modify some stuff on the truck accessory drive to clear the throttle body on a car style intake manifold. If you search you should be able to find some definitive info on this subject, but I believe it will involve cutting the idler pulley off the alternator bracket and rerouting the belt. I am not sure but it may also require that you use a car style water pump.

Yes the newer 5.3's have a 4 bolt TB. Here's a link for an LS6 intake on a truck that covers all the required modifications: http://performancetrucks.net/forums/...d.php?t=359987
