Default Help me pick my exhuast setup

Car is a heads cam car with ported 243s and torquer 2 cam 112. Here are my options
1.Run catted true duals under axle with sweet thunder mufflers
2.Catted Y with CORSA cat back or borla
3. Completely stock EXHUAST y pipe and all with electric cut-outs
I live in Cali and the cops are dicks, I want s good tone but not too loud

borla-corsa= expensive
stock exhaust with cutouts= not getting full potential but cheap and cutouts help a bit
catted true duals= probably your cheapest and best option

with that cam and heads you will want the car to breathe, the stock exhaust does not do this well and lets be real with cutouts you will leave them open 99% of the time and prob wont see the cops before they see/hear you.

borla and corsa sound good but are expensive and IMO only sound their best catless with LT's.

which leaves the true duals, which is what i would do.

BTW sorry about california, i could never live in a state so against my two passions, cars and guns.

A single 4" setup may be the easiest option. Easier to route and still flows all you'll ever need. That being said, I have a dumped dual 3". It's pretty damn loud tho.

True duals are always your best bet, so if it's an option definitely go with the dual exhaust. Preferably with a scavenge pipe/X-pipe.

I really depends on how much you wanna spend and how loud you want it. Doing a catted y-pipe with your favorite muffler might be the easiest route

I honestly don't mind paying a little extra for a quality system, but don't want to get killed either, Ive been looking for a used car-back, no luck though😑😑

I am lowered with Kooks True Duals and very seldom does it ever scrape and if it does its at the end of my driveway that has a 10" curb...(BMR springs). I have had this exhaust since 2011, love it!!

Best bet is to run a y pipe, and either corsa or borla.. duals will be very loud. I am running corsa on mines.

The best exhaust i had was duals with 1 chamber flowmasters dumped!!!!

I would recommend a catted y-pipe and your choice of catback setup. Magnaflow and TSP both offer nice systems without breaking the bank.

Yeah the couple draw backs are the 2 pipes run under the axel . Don't know why anyone would even consider doing it .

I run a custom catted true duals. Wouldn't trade it for any Y pipe setup. Never going back.

Go catted true duals! Just don't be dumb and ground clearance isn't too bad.

True duals all the way you cant beat the sound. Dont bother with under the axle go over the axle, there is enough room, If your gonna do it might as well do it right the first time. I have 2 1/2 inch over the axle, lowered with no issues here. You will have to hammer a little to make clearance for the mufflers if u decide on a full case muffler, if ur using a bullet muffler u will be fine.

Stock exhaust with a cutout is my favorite, absolute funnest combo I ever had. Still have. I used a $28 ebay cutout. Take it apart before you run it, and tighten everything even the butterfly. I've got about 18k miles on it so far and it fell off a few times because of loose bolts they ship it with (chinese I guess). but for $28 its the most fun I ever had with the car...

A cam and turbine whistle go a long way to making the note tolerable. I wouldn't do this without one or the other. The engine seems to enjoy the cutout partially closed... remember you can run them open, shut, or in between. I re-wired mine and also drilled/changed the butterfly to be more robust (put a huge locking nut on it to keep it still and set it close to the sliding metal so it sort of sticks still when half shut) anyways, its a great toy, and I recommend to anybody who loves to listen to their engine.
