Mamo MSD arrived!!!

You not along.... I'm with you. The MSD still got some proving to do in my book. I've seen the fast intakes go as fast as 9.49 over 140 mph in the quarter on a all motor pump gas big cube setup.

It'll change your VE tables a bit but if you're running a MAF shouldn't matter over 3500

TFS 235 heads
Hydraulic roller
Pump gas
Powerglide with circle d stall
Car weighs over 3200lbs
Car holds the record for all motor pump gas LS
It's been 9.4s in the quarter .... even with a smaller 408ci the car ran 9.9s on motor with fast intake With 5 3 heads.

I'm thinking if the msd is going to pick up power on a cathedral setup that would be a great candidate.

Another stout combo I've seen was a 427ci LS7 with Fast 92mm/nick williams 92mm (102mm wasn't out the time) with tfs 235 heads make 580hp/530tq to the tire a 3 speed automatic and a Neal chance 5000 rpm stall. Car also went 9.8s on motor on pump gas even tho it's a light car. If that combo was in a 6 speed car it'll be way over 600 horse at the tire. So for you guys just saying the MSD is better...... SHOW ME WRONG IN THE REAL WORLD AND NOT ON PAPER.

You're not wrong Tuskyz28. The intake is so new, there just isn't a lot of results out there, particularly in the cathedral port form. I believe the LS7 version of the MSD intake has been pretty impressive. From what Tony Mamo has stated in threads on here, the MSD intakes that he ports really shine in the upper RPM range, and beat the FAST 102 intake in the upper RPM range. I believe someone asked him how a Mamo ported FAST 102 would compare to a Mamo ported MSD intake, but I don't recall an answer from him.

Lol. Not arguing with you Tusky. Those are pretty bad *** setups to begin with. I wonder if the second setup you posted would do better with a Fast 102 setup even. Seems that the Fast 102 picks up quite a bit over the Fast 92 on bigger cube motors. But like Phoenix said, this intake is fairly new. The reason I bought it is that it seems that it will carry power further in the RPM band with the minimal results we have seen so far. And paired with my valve train with the Johnson short travel lifters one of my pals is to spin the car pretty hard. So we will see what my dyno results are soon enough and will have one more example to compare to other builds. I know Darth is also planning on buying a Mamo ported MSD and doing the install this fall sometime. He has a Mamo ported Fast 102 right now I believe. So hopefully he can get some dyno numbers before and after the MSD install. Even then, the intake is much newer than the Fast setups so will have a lot of work to do in order to "prove" that its better or worse. And I think it will still depend on application. So far, I feel that if you want a higher rpm range the ported MSD should be the way to go.

Check it out for yourself.... I also have the link to the bigger 445ci setup. I forgot to mention that the results on the 445ci motor was with a outdated Fast 92mm setup. If James Day (TXCAMSS) went 9.4- 9.5 with a Fast 92mm at 141 mph I'm sure the 102mm Fast the car would run a 9.3!!

I don't think there are any FAST haters in here. Probably everyone that has posted on this thread either has a FAST intake or would love to have one. We all know they make great power on a wide variety of setups. I've had a 92 and 2 102's! My 102 now is MAMO ported but I would love to see the MSD pick up some power even on stock cube engines. Either we still have a plastic intake because of street car, don't want cut the cowl up, or class rules etc etc.
FAST is done making intakes in the cathedral world. I talked to one of the guys @ Comp a few weekends ago at the YB nats and he said they will NEVER release the shorter runners for the cathedral. I think we all would love to see the MSD run better on the more max effort applications. We all want more power and faster et's!
