Default Drilling holes in 180 thermo?

I'm about to install heads with a bump in compression and want to cool the car down some more. I run a FTRA on the car whichs blocks alot of the radiator. My car run 195-196 with the 180/FTRA combo. Fans are adjusted also. I want to get the temps down in the 190 range at cruise and a 160 will just be too cold netting 175-180 temps. Will drilling a couple of small holes in the TB allow enough extra coolant to pass through to get my temps down 5 degrees? Thanks.

John

I've seen that one, but really don't like the idea of a small peice of metal used for the shim to have a chance to get loose in the motor. Thanks though.
