Default FAST 90 Porting??

I picked up a FAST 90 on here and it looks to be somewhat "worked".
There does not appear to be the "ledge" in the runners...but the work appears to be only on the bottom of the runners (not the best pics, sorry).
I also appears to have been taken apart at some time (or is that factory sealant).
I've never owned one before so I don't know what they look like.
Any help/advise is appreciated.

It looks like they use grey RTV. But to answer your question that is not Factory sealant

The FAST 90 I bought had already been ported too. Runners were 100% smooth.

It was a pleasant surprise to me too that the runners had the wedges removed. I'll probably smooth them some more just to play with it. I'll also port the snout to 92mm when I get a TB and port match to heads (once I decide which ones I'm gonna use)!
I got a killer deal on it and it came with fuel rail!

Glad you got one. The runners on mine seem to be pretty aggressively ported,so I'm going to leave them alone. I do needto port the snout out to 92mm. I cleaned the intake really well and taped it off for paint. Still not sure what color I want to paint it. The WS6 is pewter, but I'm thinking of painting the intake red and doing the lettering in black.

I bought some red paint last night. I'm going to paint it red and do the lettering in black. I think it will go nice with a black or red powdercoated TB and the clear lid.

Yes most people do as they seem to stay tight where the Fast bolts tend to come loose a lot.

I'd do pewter to match the body color....I think the red will overpower the engine bay. Just my personal opinion. Post up a pick of your engine bay!

I hate that FAST doesn't put the nut inserts in the snout for the TB

Yeah, that does look good. I already bought the stuff, so I'll roll with it. I might as well paint the valve covers red too while I'm at it.

ragtopz28, when are you going to get your intake on? What TB are you going to go with?

If you remember this is a slow, piece together, back-up motor.
I'm gonna run another NW92. Really all that is left is $$$$.... heads, cam, springs, pushrods, and probably some short throw lifters.
The short block is fresh with melling pump, LS7 lifters and a stock truck cam.
I'll probably paint the intake a satin black.

satin black is the only way to go. Painted my fast 90 monday. It has a bedliner-ish look to it. Just a bit smoother. Looks awesome.
