Default The Wonder Can

Just had H/C, TB, and Intake installed a couple weeks ago. Wanted to make sure the intake tract stayed clean and dry so I got an AMW Catch Can and Al's bracket to mount it.

Just checked it for the first time last night after about 500 miles. That thing just flat out does a great job!! .There was a bunch of oil in the bottom.

It's a pleasure to put a nice looking piece under the hood AND have it perform.

Now, for you guys who don't have a catch can..... how could you not??

Congrats to AMW on a fine product

That is all...

I don't use any oil. (shrug) I did a small verticle mod and I haven't had an issue. Oil pressure is fine and oil level stays the same.

Yeah, forgot about you lucky ones who don't suck oil! I'm in the "other" group. Or should I say groups.... Mine sucks oil through the PCV and consumes oil (burns?)....

The vertical mod, the seperator mod, the breather mod..... Some of that seemed to work for some but not all. At least from what I could read about. The PCV issue has been floating around for a long time. I couldnt decide which was best for me so I didnt do anything. But after hearing the success stories with the AMW can, I knew it was the way to go. I'm happy

pull your TB off I'll make a small wager that you find oil in the intake.

Normally I'd take your money from you, but you couldn't possibly have known that I had the engine apart last week and saw no oil in the intake, on the TB, in the intake ports, or in the CC. So if you still want to wager, how about $2200. That should cover the cost of a new 12 bolt.

I know that mine sucks oil, when I did my TB bypass about a month ago, I looked inside the intake thru the throttle body, looked like a mobil 1 pond. My can is shipping today, can't wait to get it on and stop that nonsense. Now, what's everyone doing to clean that outta the intake after the can's on, or will it eventually just get sucked clean and be the end of it?

Congratulations on owning the ONLY LS1 ever made that doesn't suck oil... I don't believe it.. but we're all entitled to our own opinions.

I did say 2500 not 25k...

It's not an opinion. I didn't see any oil there.
I imagine at some point it will start to drink oil, it just hasn't started yet.
I went looking through my pictures, but I don't have any closups of the intake or TB.

I do have one of the engine, you can see how clean it is...
