I am pretty sure they are referring to the where Zed placed his cutout not an actual style of cutout, per se. It goes at the rear of the car right as the intermediate pipe turns into the muffler and aims out the back. Its easier to access and doesnt rattle the crap out of the floorboard. Putting it up front is a waste and doesnt produce more that a 1 hp difference. At the rear of the car it was consistantly worth .15 and 1-2 mph with stock manifolds and cats.
