Default Best Intake Bolt Ons Only

Bought a Lid and MAF and also looking to install headers and a y or x pipe as well. What Intake would be best for this kind of setup? May go with a mild cam down the road...

Ill have to delete the AIR system because of my Lid I purchased (No plugin for the AIR) and if I get an LS6 intake ill have to delete the EGR.

Would that entire setup be okay to drive on to get tuned? Shop is about 80 miles away highway driving, but cost would be over $400. Also looking at a mail order tune which would only require me to ship the PCM and pay $150. But id have to drive it back from the shop after having the headers installed.

Not sure what kind of intake you'll find: but there's plenty of threads on that around here.

As far as tune? I'm sure you'll be just fine driving it as long as you're not romping on it (even then I'm sure it wouldn't be devastating depending on what MAF you bought).

Fast Toys 92 lid and SLP 85mm MAF.

Read Pacesetter 1 3/4" headers and Texas Speed ORY best route to go for the headers. Will this necessitate deleting EGR?

I know ill need new gaskets for the headers and should probably do the motor mounts and o2s while im down there, and of course plugs and wires.

If I was to do it again I'd buy an ls3 intake with 90mm tb and use the square to cathedral adapters. Seems like a cheaper option than the fast intakes.

Ported Fast if you want to drop the coin, if not LS6. Skip the z06 maf and pick up a $40 85mm truck maf off Ebay, same thing just cheaper. As far as headers they all work and either run true duals or whatever catback you like.

Huh?. The adapter is $200 alone, the intake your looking at anywhere from $300-$500 (used plus you'll need injector adapters or new injectors), and that's not including a good 90mm TB. Even if you did run the 3 theres no evidence it will outperform or even perform as good as a good LS1/6 intake that would be a direct swap.

A stock ls3 intake flows more than a ported 102 cathedral. But with the adaptors who knows. Also there's no throttle cable bracket holes and you have to make the MAP work. You'll also need an ls2/3 fuel rail and make the injectors work. It's not an easy venture. A ported fast 92 is by far the easiest swap for a performance intake.

Find a used FAST 90mm or FAST 92mm. Fitment will not be an issue and you can re-use fuel rails/injectors. As far as MAF, I'd get rid of it and run a 4"x6" coupler from intakehoses.com.

As far as tuning goes, I swapped 1 7/8 long tubes, ls6 intake, lid, maf screen, ported tb, and 243 heads onto mine and the stock tune is pretty good AFR wise and no knock according to hptuners.

Fast 92 if you have the money. BBK if you are on a budget.

Did you drill a hole in the FTP lid for the IAT sensor? I thought they came with no hole?

WS6Store can provide your FTP lid with the hole drilled for the IAT sensor if you request it.
